Honda has just unveiled the CB 125 Hornet, a motorcycle that’s turning heads in the 125cc segment. A Head-Turning Design

The CB 125 Hornet doesn’t just roll down the street—it demands attention. Its sharp, streetfighter-inspired look sets it apart from traditional commuter bikes. The front fascia sports a sleek, twin-LED headlamp with daytime running lights (DRLs), giving it an aggressive stance. The muscular fuel tank, complete with bold tank shrouds, adds to its commanding presence, while the high-mounted LED turn indicators and a stylish muffler round out the sporty vibe. Available in four vibrant color options—Pearl Siren Blue with Lemon Ice Yellow, Pearl Igneous Black, Pearl Siren Blue with Athletic Blue Metallic, and Pearl Siren Blue with Sports Red—the Hornet’s color-coded alloy wheels make it a visual treat for Gen-Z riders.

Tech That Keeps You Connected

Honda has packed the CB 125 Hornet with features that cater to the modern rider. At the heart of its tech is a 4.2-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity via the Honda RoadSync app. This allows riders to access turn-by-turn navigation, call and SMS alerts, and even music playback through a headset, all controllable via switches on the left handlebar. A universal USB Type-C charging port ensures your devices stay powered on the go, a thoughtful touch for today’s always-connected lifestyle. Additional safety features like an engine stop switch and a side-stand indicator with an engine inhibitor make this bike as practical as it is stylish.

Power and Performance

Underneath its bold exterior, the CB 125 Hornet houses a familiar 123.94cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, shared with the Honda SP 125 and Shine 125. However, it’s been tuned for a bit more punch, delivering 11.1 horsepower at 7,500 RPM and 11.2 Nm of torque at 6,000 RPM. Paired with a 5-speed gearbox, this engine propels the bike from 0 to 60 km/h in a claimed 5.4 seconds, making it one of the fastest in its class. At just 124 kg, the Hornet’s lightweight build ensures nimble handling, perfect for weaving through city traffic or tackling twisty roads.

Segment-First Suspension and Braking

The CB 125 Hornet sets a new standard in its segment with its suspension setup. It’s the first 125cc bike to feature golden upside-down (USD) front forks, which not only enhance its premium look but also improve handling and stability. At the rear, a 5-step preload-adjustable monoshock ensures a smooth ride across various terrains. For braking, it sports a 240mm petal disc at the front and a 130mm drum at the rear, supported by single-channel ABS for added safety. The 17-inch tubeless tires (80/100 front, 110/80 rear) provide excellent grip, boosting rider confidence.

Pricing and Market Position

While official pricing will be announced on August 1, 2025, when bookings open, the CB 125 Hornet is expected to fall in the ₹95,000 to ₹1.40 lakh range (ex-showroom). This positions it as a premium option in the 125cc segment, competing directly with the TVS Raider 125, Hero Xtreme 125R, and Bajaj Pulsar N125. Honda’s strategy is clear: offer a feature-rich, stylish bike that appeals to young riders seeking a blend of performance and personality. With its modern tech and sporty design, the Hornet is poised to carve out a strong niche in this competitive market.

The Honda CB 125 Hornet is more than just a commuter—it’s a statement. Whether you’re a young rider looking to stand out or someone seeking a fun, practical ride, this bike delivers. Keep an eye out for its launch next week, as it’s set to shake up the 125cc segment with style and substance.
